Audio Architect

Audio Architect, currently at version 3, is a modular synth - you connect up various modules to each other to create the final sound. It includes the following modules:

  • Offset
  • Oscillator (triangle waves)
  • PD Oscillator (4 waveforms including resonant waves)
  • LFO
  • Sample
  • Low-pass Filter
  • Amplifier
  • Control Amplifier
  • ADSR Envelope
  • Delay
  • Mixer
  • Control Mixer
  • Lag time processor
  • MIDI In
  • Sequencer
  • MIDI Player
  • Audio output
  • WAV output

Real-time output is only supported in the registered version, which costs £125/$200. I haven't tried it so don't know what it sounds like, but generally modular synths are better for getting at new, maybe more experimental sounds, while traditional fixed synths are easier to use and quickly enable you to reach traditional-sounding sounds.
