Rubber Duck h30+

Rubber Duck is meant to be a very rough copy of a TB-303. The new version has two oscillators, with a lovely little graphic showing a picture of the waveform. Its filter is excellent for doing bass sounds and the whole output of the program is reminiscent of the Novation BassStation. Its sequencer which is the TB-303 sequencer transposed to the PC, complete with accent and slide. All you have to do to get a ruff trance-y acid-y type line is to select Apply Chaos to Pattern from the menus, which randomises the sequencer, and fiddle with the controls a bit.

Rubber Duck can be controlled from the MIDI keyboard (and is velocity sensitive) and the lag is reasonable - expecially with DirectX. There is a very short lag on the controls, which can also be controlled with MIDI controllers or a joystick. The shareware version allows saving and loading of sequencer patterns and synthesizer settings. The registered version allows the user to record to wave file. It is Windows 95 only.
